This is a such a great value. I was blown away by the quality as well. My son is really blossoming as an artist and he was thrilled to receive this. The brushes are high quality. You will want to buy a storage tote or bin to keep all of the goodies organized in but that’s a cheap add on! Very pleased with this!

It really is a quality set and I have only opened a few media types within it but each one has been good. There is all different types of paint included. I love acrylic so that is what I focus on most. These are very bright and the texture is smooth within the tubes. The blend flawlessly and even cleanup is a breeze. I am really impressed with the quality of the set. Also the variety you get for the price is almost unheard of. Again all the tools included and even the canvas is great. I really don't have anything bad about this set. It is big. It is high quality. It is affordable. This one is 5+ Stars. Hurry and get this one for you lover of all things paint or even just your crafty friend. This set is the real deal!

This is an absolute whopper of a paint set. You won't realize just how heavy 22 lbs is until you deal with this package. If you give it as a gift, the recipient will think you've bought them a flatbox piece of furniture or an unassembled giant dollhouse or something. It's really that gigantic and heavy. Your roll of giftwrap will not wrap this in any dimension in one take.That aside, Meeden does make quality paint sets, which I recommend without reservation, as someone who has spent many thousands of dollars of art supplies over the years. And before writing my review, I went and started individually pricing the components of this set, all ready to declare what a bargain the price was for the set. Except ... I didn't arrive at where I thought I would. I can't proclaim this set the bargain of a lifetime compared to the individual components, which are already well priced. And what's more, Amazon sells many well great value Meeden sets, some which include the easel, which is the pricier item in this set.I do recommend Meeden sets, but depending on what you're looking for, check out the 142 piece set, which, at the time of this review, is about half the price of this set. Or fill your cart with the individual items you actually want. You may discover that this set isn't your best fit.However, if you place value in not having to think about it at all, or if you are buying it for an artist and don't know what they want, then there's value in just having everything and anything and not having to think. And if that's what you want, you can't go wrong with this set. It has absolutely everything and the quality is great. Just be prepared to double up on your heart medicine if you need to carry this or wrap it. Because it's a giant.

For painting media, you get 2 canvases (11”x14”, 1 black, 1 white), 3 canvas boards (10”x10, 1 black, 2 white), a pad of canvas sheets (9”x12”, cotton, 20 sheets), and a pad of watercolor paper (7”x10”, cold-pressed, 20 sheets).I am quite impressed with the comprehensive selection of items included in this set. If you want to experiment with painting, this set has all you need. Except perhaps more media, since the paints will far outlast the media included in the box. The quality of the media is fine for folks just starting out and learning technique. Why spend money on really expensive media for practice pieces when you’re a beginner? So when you use up the canvases and paper included in this box, it will probably be time to step up to some more expensive media at that point. In any case, there is certainly nothing wrong with the media in this box, especially for beginners. I’ve been working with watercolors for about 2 years. I was curious about expanding my skills and trying out some gouache and acrylics. This box has all I need to go forward with gouache, and more. The box is great for inspiring dreams!
